Under the guidance of our professional English-speaking chef, you will venture into a wet market to select fresh ingredients, learn the art of bargaining, and then return to our kitchen to prepare a 3-course meal of your choice. Whether you want to master the famous Pho Noodle Soup, grill authentic Bun Cha, or learn the secret to fluffy Egg Coffee, this class offers a personalized and unforgettable culinary experience.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellation fees are calculated based on the rules of each local supplier, since different cruise lines and partners have their own policies.
  • For cruises, the detailed cancellation and refund policy appears on each cruise page under the Rate and Availability tab.
  • There is no refund or exchange if the customer opts out while the tour is in progress.
  • We strongly advise purchasing travel insurance sufficient coverage.
  • If you do not use any confirmed service, no compensation will be given for the unused portion.
  • This applies to FIT bookings. For GIT bookings we will confirm separate conditions during quotation and contracting.
  • Some hotels and cruises have special conditions during promotions and peak seasons. We will confirm these by email and those terms will apply. All cancellations must be sent to us by email.

  • More than 30 days before check in: free of charge

  • From 11 to 30 days before check in: 30 percent of total rate

Mekong River cruise

  • More than 90 days before check in: 30 percent of the cruise price

  • From 60 to 89 days before check in: 50 percent of the cruise price

Short tours from 1 to 3 days

  • More than 7 days prior: 10 percent of total rate

What To Expect

Morning Class: 07:30 AM – 11:30 AM OR Afternoon Class: 01:00 PM – 05:00 PM

The journey begins with a pick-up from your Hanoi Old Quarter hotel by our friendly guide. We welcome you to our kitchen with a refreshing herbal tea or coffee while you sit down with the Chef to customize your menu. Unlike rigid cooking classes, we let the group decide which 3 dishes to cook, ensuring you learn exactly what you love (Vegetarian and Vegan options are fully supported).

Once the menu is set, we walk to a nearby local wet market. Here, you will escape the tourist crowds and see how Hanoians shop for their daily meals. Your guide will teach you basic Vietnamese phrases to bargain for fresh herbs, spices, and meats. This is a great opportunity to capture authentic photos of local life and learn about the unique ingredients that define Vietnamese flavor.

Back at the kitchen, the real fun begins. You will have your own cooking station to chop, marinate, and cook under the Chef’s watchful eye. We also include a special workshop on making Hanoi Egg Coffee (Cà Phê Trứng) or the unique Egg Beer—a must-try local specialty. Finally, sit down to enjoy the feast you have created. We end the session by presenting you with a Certificate of Completion and a recipe booklet so you can impress your friends back home.

The Hanoi Classics (Meat Options)

  • Pho Bo / Pho Ga: Traditional Noodle Soup with Beef or Chicken.

  • Bun Cha: Grilled Pork Belly & Meatballs with dipping sauce (The “Obama” dish).

  • Nem Ran: Deep-fried Spring Rolls with pork and wood-ear mushrooms.

  • Ga Xao Sa Ot: Lemongrass & Chili Chicken served with steamed rice.

The Vegan & Vegetarian Selection

  • Nom Hoa Chuoi: Banana Flower Salad with roasted peanuts and herbs.

  • Dau Hu Sot Me: Crispy Tofu with a tangy Tamarind sauce.

  • Nem Ran Chay: Vegetable Spring Rolls (crispy and light).

  • Pho Nuoc Chay: Vegan Noodle Soup with savory vegetable broth.
